Melhem Scientific Announces the Formation of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Global Health Informatics

Washington, D.C., October 28, 2025 -- Melhem Scientific proudly announces the establishment of its newest division, the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Global Health Informatics, a pioneering step in integrating artificial intelligence and advanced informatics into global medical and research practices.
The new department will serve as a hub for innovation, bridging medicine, data science, and technology to develop intelligent systems that improve patient care, streamline diagnostics, and expand healthcare access across borders.
Nehme Gerges Melhem will serve as Interim Executive Director of the department while the organization identifies and appoints permanent leadership. In this capacity, Mr. Melhem, alongside Mr. Joseph Nassar, Vice President Emeritus; Director of Strategy Dr. Ali Slim; and key leadership members, will oversee the department’s initial structure, partnerships, and strategic direction.
As a student in Artificial Intelligence and Information Systems at Johns Hopkins University, Mr. Melhem brings academic expertise and a strong commitment to advancing responsible, human-centered AI. His vision places artificial intelligence at the forefront of Melhem Scientific’s future—one that emphasizes ethical innovation, data security, and equitable global health solutions.

The founding team and global partners will meet in the coming weeks to outline the department’s foundational roadmap, with the official launch event scheduled for November 2025. The department will prioritize projects that:

Support education and training for the next generation of medical AI professionals.
